South Loop Moms n' Tots started in 2001 when a local mom was expecting her second child. She knew her first born would need some friends to play with as they adjusted to their new family size, so she posted a notice in the Jewel at Roosevelt and Wabash looking for playdates. What began with six moms has grown to include a large group of working moms, stay-at-home moms, and mothers of all kinds who want to get together to support one another, share in the joys of parenthood, and explore one of Chicago’s most family-friendly neighborhoods.
SLMNT has always been organized and run by volunteers from its membership. We have a dedicated planning committee and interested members are always welcome to join at any point in the year! Can’t commit right now? We also have standalone opportunities to get involved throughout the year, particularly around our large annual events.
Our current planning committee consists of:
Michelle G, Heather B, Julie R, Katelyn A, Lauren Q, Lindsay M, Ellen M, Erin V, and Elizabeth G.
